Real Stays, Real Retreat Moments

Hillside Haven was perfect for us. It's our second time staying there. The home is extremely clean, tastefully decorated, and very thoughtful in every detail. Examples include plenty of places to plug in, robes in the closet, and plenty of coffee filters, spices and olive oil in the kitchen. Retreat folks are also very responsive.

We had a good stay at Among the Laurels. The property was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. However, there were a few things that could have made our experience much better. Our biggest complaint was the sleeping arrangements. Unfortunately, we experienced some of the worst sleep we’ve ever had! The downstairs bed was extremely uncomfortable, squeaky, and small. It also seemed to dip toward the middle, leaving us feeling like we were rolling into each other all night. After a rough first night, we switched beds with our child and moved up to the loft. Unfortunately, that wasn’t much better. With the windows positioned right at bed level, headlights from passing cars and other outdoor lighting made it difficult to sleep. The loft was also quite warm, as heat collected upstairs and the cooler air didn’t seem to reach that space. Thankfully, the fan provided some relief! We were also surprised that there didn’t appear to be any nearby water access, at least none that we could find. Given that kayaking was an option, we were a little confused about where we would actually launch a kayak and how we would transport it there, even if we had brought our truck. Lastly, the property sits next to a fairly busy road, so the traffic noise was a bit disappointing and took away from the peaceful atmosphere we had hoped for. Overall, Among the Laurels is a charming, well-equipped place to stay, but the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, road noise, and lack of convenient water access made the experience less enjoyable than we had anticipated.

Our family loved staying at this tiny home. It was the perfect little hideaway and we could just spend some quality time together and make some awesome memories

The place is super cute and has almost everything you need for a nice getaway. The fire pit was beautiful. The hosts were very responsive when Google Maps took us to the wrong place. Make sure to get accurate instructions! Thanks for a nice stay

This was our first stay in a "tiny home", and it didn't feel tiny at all. We were very please with the exceptional use of space, with a luxurious master bathroom, full size kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, and well-designed living areas were more than expected. Everything from coffee at sunrise on the screened-in porch, to kayaking in the morning, lounging in the afternoon on the rooftop deck, to evenings in the hot tub, it all added up to the most relaxing escape from the city.

The Petite Retreat was absolutely perfect for our 3 night stay. The home was clean and well stocked, for cooking. There were several outdoor areas for relaxation....decks, outdoor fire pit, with cafe lights above. The location was exactly what we were looking for, very private and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful getaway!!

This property was excellent for our short get away. We love the privacy and seclusion of our tiny home. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Steve and Kathy Watts.

This tiny home was perfect! Clean, beautifully decorated, conveniently located. We came for a concert at The Caverns. Would definitely recommend staying here.

My mother and daughter and I booked the stay as a celebration of life trip for my other daughter we lost in recent years. It’s obviously a tough week, but I can’t put into words just how appropriately therapeutic the space and the scenery was for us. The cabin itself is just beautiful and well laid out. It was clean and quiet and perfect. It was placed in the perfect spot on the water’s edge and helped to create a view we never got tired of staring at. Mother Nature served a heavy thunderstorm midday on the second day and it didn’t dampen a thing; the metal roof, the floor to ceiling windows, and the screened in patio only added to just how glorious this experience was. We plan to do this trip yearly, this three generation trio who lost the dearest soul to us, and the first place we’re going to look next year will be Lakeside Lookout.
